How murals are created
All our murals have been created by our team of Picture my world artists. A lot of thought and hard work has gone into creating all the murals designs that you will find on the site. Each artist has their own way of creating their children’s mural theme. We first of all we start by trying to understand what type of designs children, parents and young adults are looking for. We do research and also see what’s popular in the market for designs and colours. Then its over to our artists to create something that would completely match the target age group and suggested theme.
Each artist has their own unique way of creating and developing their designs. Some like very traditional methods with pencils and brushes and others like to create digital pieces straight from teh onset. Here's some pictures of a mural in its different stages of a development - its a beautiful mural design called "unicorn and rainbow mural" which was created by Jim Algar one of our team.
Jim starts by hand drawing the mural and creating sketches of their ideas to bring them to life. From this, tweaks are made then they transfer them to computer, usually by scanning them in. Then they create the digital file. The drawing at this stage is all black and white outline, so the next stage is to colour them in. Once this has been complete, the shading and finishing touches are applied. This is quite simplified and the work itself can take many hours and days of painstaking work to get an image to complete perfection.
Luckily our artists love taking time to make beautiful desgins perfect for your walls! If you would like one of our artists to create a bespoke mural design they love working on specific briefs - drop us a line and we can discuss your requirements.
